08 July 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing promoted the Philippines as a destination for tertiary education in the 10th Yunnan International Education Fair held FROM June 27 to 29 at the Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center in Yunnan Province. Participants include local and foreign universities, government entities from the Philippines, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Malaysia, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States. The fair allowed education consultancies and other companies to promote and offer education related services to visitors from all over Yunnan Province, particularly to parents weighing their options on sending their children overseas.
The Consulate General sought to attract students from Yunnan Province by highlighting the advantages of studying in the Philippines: quality education, affordability, a good social environment, proximity to China, and travel and tourism opportunities.
The Consulate General’s booth gave out brochures on studying in the Philippines with information about course offerings, admission requirements, visa issuance, and other details about living and studying in the Philippines.
Aside from promoting the Philippines as a destination for education, the Consulate General also took the opportunity to promote major Philippine tourist destinations as part of its overall strategy to attract foreign visitors to the country. END
