DFA Repatriates Undocumented Filipina in Russia

MOSCOW 26 June 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) through the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, facilitated the repatriation of an undocumented Filipina.

The Filipina was a minor when she arrived in Russia in 2016 with the help of her mother who worked for a foreign Embassy in Moscow. The Filipina was unemployed, and a student attending classes online. She stayed with her mother who currently works part-time as a household service worker and is also an undocumented Overseas Filipino Worker in Moscow.

The Embassy assisted her in securing all necessary immigration documents. Airfare and other repatriation-related expenses were paid through the Assistance-to–Nationals Fund.

She arrived in the Philippines on 22 June 2024. END
