Administrator Malaluan presents investment opportunities in the Philippines’ shipping and maritime sector
ATHENS 27 June 2024— Philippine Ambassador to Greece Giovanni E. Palec, along with First Secretary and Consul Therese R. Cantada, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Administrator Sonia B. Malaluan and MARINA Director of Regulation Service Ramon C. Hernandez participated in the “Workshops for Asian Markets” which was co-organized on 10 June 2024 by the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Greek Asian Business Council, Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry & EEN-Hellas 2025, and European Commission - India IP SME Help Desk. The event was held at the headquarters of the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
MARINA Administrator Malaluan delivered a presentation on the Philippines’ maritime industry and the possible investment opportunities. She highlighted the latest trends and developments in the sector, the huge number of seafarers deployed by the country internationally and the Philippine’s shipbuilding industry which is the fourth largest in the world. She promoted the Philippines as the next investment destination, especially to companies in the shipping and maritime industry. END
