08 July 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Beirut attended the search for 2nd Miss Earth FILWAM on June 29 at the Sakr Farm House in Mansourieh, Metn, Mount Lebanon, organized by the Filipino Workers Association in Metn (FILWAM), one of the oldest and biggest Filipino community organizations in Lebanon.
Philippine Consul General Dennis John Briones conveyed to the attendees the message of Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz, thanking FILWAM for actively participating in the Philippine Independence Day Food Festival and Cultural Show held last June 8 and urging them to continue supporting Embassy-initiated activities in the future. He congratulated FILWAM for organizing the second edition of its beauty pageant and then urged the Filipinos present to register for overseas voting and to always check the security advisories posted on the Embassy’s Facebook.
The winners of the search are: Ms. Melet Torsuela, Miss Earth FILWAM 2014; Ms. Maria Theresa Cachero, Miss Water – 1st Runner-up; Ms. Nina Grace Amoyan, Miss Fire – 2nd Runner up; Ms. Lalaine Onofre, Miss Air – 3rd Runner Up and Ms. Mary Joy Matugas, Miss Ecotourism. END
