Philippine Ambassador Presents Credentials to Palestinian President
Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Wilfredo C. Santos during his virtual Presentation of Credentials to the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Palestinian Embassy in Amman on 09 July 2024.
AMMAN 10 July 2024 – His Excellency Wilfredo C. Santos, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with concurrent jurisdiction over the State of Palestine presented his Letter of Credence to H.E. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, in a ceremony held at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Amman on 09 July 2024.
During the virtual ceremony, Ambassador Santos delivered his message and conveyed the heartfelt sympathy and message of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and reiterated the Philippines’ support to and commitment in advocating for the two-state solution which honors the aspirations of the Palestinian people for sovereignty and self-determination.
Ambassador Santos was accompanied by his wife, Madame Geraldine C. Lucero-Santos, Second Secretary and Consul Angeli A. Payumo, and Secretary to the Ambassador and Attaché Ms. Rachel Joy A. Pamorada.
Ambassador Santos presented his Credentials with the Ambassadors of Malaysia, Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Pakistan.
Prior to his posting in Amman, Ambassador Santos served as Assistant Secretary and Chief of Protocol, as well as Deputy Undersecretary for UCSCA, at the Department of Foreign Affairs. He previously served as Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar and to the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as Assistant Secretary at the Office of Consular Affairs. END
