PH Ambassador to Brazil Awarded Anhanguera Merit Award by the State of Goiás

BRASILIA 02 August 2024 — Philippine Ambassador Joseph Gerard B. Angeles was awarded the Anhanguera Merit Award on 23 July 2024. The Anhanguera Merit Award is the most eminent honor granted by the State of Goiás, Brazil, for actively promoting ASEAN and the Philippines in a working tour of Goiás in 2023 as well as strengthening relations with the State of Goiás.

In bestowing the award, Governor Caiado said: “As Grand Master of the Order, I recognize that your work, dedication and commitment have left significant marks in our society, promoting the development, culture and progress of Goiás. Your trajectory and achievements are examples to be followed, and it is with great pride that we wish to express our deep gratitude for the efforts and attention dedicated to the people of Goiás.  I clarify that your presence is of fundamental importance to further brighten this ceremony, giving me the opportunity to personally express my gratitude and respect for your commitment to Goiás.”

The ambassadors of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Timor Leste, among others, have also been recognized with the Award. 

The Anhanguera Merit Award is an honorary award established by the State of Goiás in recognition of relevant services, actions or exceptional merits. END
