DFA Repatriates Undocumented Filipinos in Russia

MOSCOW 14 August 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) through the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation facilitated the repatriation of two undocumented Filipinos in Moscow.

They were illegally recruited from Hong Kong by Filipinos based in Russia. When they arrived in Moscow in June 2024, they were not given work and were left to fend for themselves.

Their airfare and other repatriation-related expenses were paid through the ATN Fund.

They arrived in the Philippines on 10 August 2024. END
