Philippine Embassy in Vienna Hosts Special Breakfast to Celebrate Filipino Excellence in Foreign Diplomatic Missions

VIENNA 20 August 2024 – The Philippine Embassy recognized the invaluable contributions of Filipinos and Filipino-Austrians working in foreign diplomatic missions and households in Vienna by hosting a special Filipino breakfast on 18 August 2024 at the Philippine Ambassador’s residence, in line with the Philippine government's commitment to fostering a strong global Filipino community and supporting its citizens abroad. 

A heartfelt message was delivered by Ambassador Evangelina A. Bernas, who highlighted the essential role that the Filipinos played in the success of foreign diplomatic missions. "Lahat ng mga Ambassadors na nakilala ko sinasabi nila, ‘Without our Filipino staff, we will fall apart.’ Dahil sa inyo, magaan agad ang loob ng mga ambassador sa Philippine embassy. So I wish to congratulate all of you and thank you for your excellence and professionalism,” she shared.

The event included an introduction of the Philippine Embassy officers and staff in attendance and acknowledged former Philippine Ambassador to Austria Maria Cleofe Natividad, whose leadership and contributions as Secretary of the Policy-Making Organs (PMO) of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has brought pride to the Philippines. 

Many of the guests were long-time residents of Austria, having served in diplomatic missions for more than 20 years, and were grateful for having an event in their honor for the first time in Vienna. END
