DFA Repatriates Three Undocumented Families in Russia

MOSCOW 29 August 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) through the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation facilitated the repatriation of three undocumented families in Moscow.

The Filipino families started experiencing challenges at the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Most of them lost their permanent jobs and were doing part-time work. They decided to return to the Philippines due to financial constraints and to give their children an opportunity to attend school.

The Embassy assisted the families in securing all necessary immigration documents. Airfare and other repatriation-related expenses were paid through the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Fund.

The families arrived in the Philippines on 17, 22, and 23 August 2024. END

The repatriated overseas Filipino families in Moscow airports on their way back to the Philippines, with Philippine Embassy in Moscow Vice Consul Leslie C. Escosura-Bustamante and ATN Officer Ray G. Parojinog.
