BEIRUT 29 August 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon conducted a consular outreach in Zahlé, one of the largest cities in Lebanon on 25 August 2024. The initiative, in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), aims to bring consular and welfare services closer to Filipinos in Lebanon amidst the ongoing challenges in the country.

The one-stop shop offered consular services such as passport renewal, notarial, and civil registration, as well as the enrollment and renewal of OWWA membership and Overseas Voters’ Registration. This is to ensure that Filipino nationals in Lebanon have the necessary documentation, properly informed of their welfare benefits as OWWA members, and their voters’ registration remain active for the upcoming 2025 Philippine National Elections.

The Embassy is committed to delivering these vital services to Filipino nationals across Lebanon. The safety and well-being of our nationals remain our top priority. As part of the Embassy’s implementation of its contingency plan and in mapping all the Filipino nationals in Lebanon, OFWs were reminded of preparedness measures and necessary response in case of emergencies and evacuations. The Embassy urges all Filipino nationals to be vigilant, prepared, and consider leaving Lebanon due to the unstable security situation. The Embassy continues to extend its services and support, especially to those in remote areas.

With the assistance of the Filipino Community groups, the outreach was successfully completed. Additional dates and locations of upcoming programs will be announced through the Embassy’s website and social media accounts. END
