milan10 July 2014 – Officials of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan met with Deputy Prefect Giuseppe Priolo, Bureau Chief of the Office of the State Representative Donatella Cera, and Executive Officer Cecilia Nardelli on July 3 to tackle matters related to Italian immigration and labor policies.

 

The meeting discussed in detail technical issues such as the legalization of documents, application of direct hires, granting of Italian citizenship, and processing of labor contracts among others. The Prefettura (Prefect’s Office) officials gave a thorough explanation of procedures that should be followed. They said that they do not encounter problems with the Filipinos who come to their office to process their documents. They also shared that their office will be introducing new systems to facilitate faster issuance of documents. They highlighted the fact that their office website contains all the necessary information that would be very useful to the Filipino migrants.

 

 

This is the first time that the Consulate General and the Prefettura di Milano conducted a technical meeting and agreed to continue regular consultations to be able to provide appropriate information to the Filipino community with regards to services provided by the Prefettura. A dialogue will be organized by the Consulate General for the Filipino community with the Prefettura providing resource speakers and experts. END
