PH Embassy Meets with ASEAN Counterparts During Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Visit to Iraq

Philippine Ambassador and Consul General to Iraq Charlie Pacaña Manangan with Singaporean MOFA delegation led by Director-General Samuel Tan

BAGHDAD 18 September 2024 – Philippine Ambassador and Consul General to Iraq Charlie Pacaña Manangan met with Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director-General for Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia Directorate, H.E. Samuel Tan on 11 September 2024 in Baghdad to discuss the situation of ASEAN posts in Iraq.

Also in attendance was Malaysia’s Charge d’affaires, Mr. Mohamad Shahir bin Sabarudin.

Ambassador Manangan shared Philippine experience, including best practices and ways forward in establishing an ASEAN community in Iraq. Ambassador Manangan established an ASEAN Group in Baghdad upon his arrival in 2023. 

Next year will mark the 50th year since Iraq and the Philippines established diplomatic ties.
