PH Ambassador Turns Over Murillo Velarde Map, Copy of 2016 Arbitral Award to Iranian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

TEHRAN 04 October 2024 — Philippine Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Roberto G. Manalo turning over the Murillo Velarde map and a copy of the 2016 Arbitral Award to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Muhammad Hassan Sheikholeslami on 25 September 2024.
In the brief ceremony, Ambassador Manalo and Dr. Sheikholeslami discussed enhancement of bilateral relations along with activities that are planned and implemented this year as part of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Dr. Sheikholeslami proposed to conduct further activities in celebration of the 60th Anniversary, including an exhibition of historical bilateral documents/photos and an academic lecture on international maritime law.
After the meeting, Ambassador Manalo and Dr. Sheikholeslami proceeded to the lobby for the unveiling of the Murillo map and the donation of a bound copy of the 2016 Arbitral Award. END
