Maritime Roots on Display at Filipino Visual Artists in Austria "Nuances of Water" Exhibit in Vienna
VIENNA 10 October 2024 - The maritime roots of Filipinos was highlighted in the Filipino Visual Artists in Austria (FVAA) exhibit titled, “Nuances of Water” at the historic Wasserturm (Water Tower) in Vienna. The exhibit showcased the works of 11 Filipino visual artists based in Austria.
In his opening remarks, FVAA President Gerry De Guzman invited all Filipino artists in Austria to participate in their mentoring and art workshops and to use the arts as a medium of expression and self reflection. Vice Consul Chryzl T. Sicat of the Philippine Embassy congratulated the FVAA for the beautiful collection at the exhibit. She said that through the arts, Filipinos in Austria were able to thrive in their respective professional fields as it helped in their self improvement and disposition while pursuing their respective careers abroad.
The Filipino artists featured at the exhibit include Gerry De Guzman, Imelda Papai, Lisa Ante, Sheila Feliciano, Randy Ilagan, Rose Neuman, Cecilia Prinz, Anna Yacat, Mamerto Luya, Vincent Gani Banacia, and Siony Shaitl. ‘Nuances of Water’ will be on display from 7 to 13 October 2024 at the Wasserturm Favoriten Windtenstraße 3, 1100 Vienna.
