HONOLULU 29 October 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu conducted a kamustahan session and welfare check of Filipino J1 teachers last 17 October at the Binhi at Ani Filipino Community Center

Consul Grace Bulos led the 5-person team which conducted the outreach mission. It was held as a side activity of the consular and assistance to nationals outreach mission to Kahului, Maui from 18 to 20 October.

In her remarks, Consul Bulos thanked the teachers for being the Philippines’ ambassadors of culture and goodwill and encouraged them to find time to practice self-care despite their busy schedules.

Consul Bulos reminded those who are registered as overseas voters (OV) to practice their right of suffrage in the May 2025 Philippine midterm elections and informed those unable to register to be on the lookout for announcements on the next round of OV registration. As voting for the upcoming elections will be online, Ms. Bulos requested the teachers’ help in the information campaign for the online voting and counting.

Lastly, Consul Bulos informed the teachers of the ongoing Filipino Food Week (FFW), in which 5 Maui restaurants are participating, and encouraged them to support the activity.
