HONG KONG 31 October 2024 — A total of 17 Philippine micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) participated and showcased quality and premium handicrafts in Mega Show Hong Kong 2024 which ran from 20 to 23 October 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

The two Philippine pavilions exhibited the country’s ingenuity and craftsmanship through its diverse array of quality and premium products which include beautiful Christmas, holiday and home decors; wooden souvenirs and table wares; accent pieces made from Capiz shells; acacia woodenware; woven bags, and storage boxes. These companies are prime examples of the wealth of products that Philippine MSMEs have to offer to the rest of the world.

MSMEs are businesses that have an asset size not exceeding Php100 million and employ less than 200 employees. The important role of MSMEs in Philippine economic growth and development stems from the fact that such a sector comprises 99.58% of all businesses in the Philippines and employs 63% of the country’s total workforce.

The Philippine Consul General to Hong Kong Ms. Germinia V. Aguilar-Usudan visited the Philippine pavilions to show support and appreciation for their participation in the Show.

The Philippine pavilions housed a variety of export high quality products such as wooden souvenir items brought by all Cebu-based manufacturers, namely Bambinata Philippines Inc., Bravo World Inc., and Freeriders International Corp.; beautiful Christmas, holiday, festive decorations by Dekokraft Inc., Saint Jude International Export Corp., and Stem Exports Philippines, Inc.; handicrafts made of abaca (manila fiber), sinamay floral rolls, and paper mache by Rodima Marketing Corporation and Hubog Craft Philippines Co. Ltd.; trendy fashion accessories by Angels Art Ltd. Co.; houseware products made of pumice stone by Pumice Unlimited Ventures; acacia tablewares by South Seas Native Treasures Inc.; intricately woven housewares and storage boxes by Island Accents, Inc.; and unique handcrafted goods, household decors and accent pieces made of Capiz shells and abalone shells by Conway Designs, Inc. and TGIA Craft Manufacturing. Meanwhile, the booths of Home Accents Group of the Philippines Inc. (HAPI), Paneurope Management Inc., Philippine Homestyle and Holiday Decor Association Inc. (PhilHHDA) presented a collection of premium quality artisanal products from various Philippine MSMEs.

The Mega Show Hong Kong is organized by ComAsia Limited and is labeled as the ultimate destination for sourcing Asian products. For over three decades, the Show served as an annual trade platform for suppliers and buyers who are looking for quality gifts; premium housewares; kitchen and dining products; lifestyle products; toys and baby products; and festive, Christmas and seasonal goods. The four-day show gathered more than 4,000 exhibitors from over 30 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. END
