PH Consulate General in Manado Successfully Repatriates 21 Filipino Fisherfolk via PH Navy Ship BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS-37)

MANADO 25 November 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Manado successfully repatriated 21 Filipino fisherfolk who were temporarily staying in Bitung City on 20 November 2024 through the use of the Philippine Navy ship Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas (BRP) Artemio Ricarte (PS-37).

Before the departure of the Philippine Navy ship, Philippine Consul General Mary Jennifer Domingo Dingal visited the repatriates to wish them a safe voyage back to the Philippines. She reiterated the commitment of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Consulate General to assist Filipinos who are in need of assistance. She likewise conveyed her thanks to the Department of National Defense (DND), the Eastern Mindanao Command, the Philippine Navy, and the Commanding Officer of BRP Artemio Ricarte Commander Kim Jon Acoba PN for their support in the Consulate General’s repatriation efforts.

BRP Artemio Ricarte arrived in Davao City in the afternoon 22 November 2024, where the repatriates were met by personnel from the DFA Consular Office (CO) in Davao and other local government authorities.

BRP Artemio Ricarte was in Bitung City for the closing ceremonies of the Coordinated Patrol Philippine-Indonesia (CORPAT PHILINDO) XXXVIII-2024 Exercises which were held from 16 to 20 November 2024 in Bitung City, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. END
