A Victory for Philippine Designers at Diplomatic Conference on the Design Law Treaty 2024 in Riyadh

RIYADH 09 December 2024 – A victory for Filipino designers, the Philippines represented by Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) Director General Rowel S. Barba signed the Riyadh Treaty and Final Act on Design Law at the Diplomatic Conference on Design Law in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The signing of the Riyadh Treaty on Design Law marked a monumental step towards making it easier, faster, and more affordable for Filipino designers worldwide to protect their designs at home and abroad, empowering designers and fostering international collaboration in design.
This will bolster Filipino designers and the Filipino creative industry and strengthen our commitment to international cooperation in protecting innovative designs. The Philippines is proud to join nations around the globe in promoting a culture of creativity and protecting the rights of designers. END
