SF outreach in Alaska1

16 July 2013 - From July 5 to 7, the Philippines Consulate General in San Francisco conducted a Consular Outreach Mission in Anchorage, Alaska, the second outreach to be held in for the city by the Consulate General. It was organized with the valuable assistance of several Filipino-American community leaders and volunteers from various organizations in Anchorage.  

The five-member consular team extended a total of 392 services for passport, notarials and legalization, civil registry and dual citizenship at the three-day outreach mission.    Together with some Filipino community leaders the Consular Outreach Team  also had the  opportunity to visit offices and meet some Alaska officials during their stay in Anchorage such as those from the Office of U.S. Senator Mark Begich, State Representatives Lindsey Holmes, Gabrielle LeDoux and Anchorage  Mayor Dan Sullivan.

In its desire to reach out and assist kababayans, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco endeavors to hold Consular Outreach Missions in various locales under its 10 state jurisdictions.

Alaska is home to 25,424 Filipinos, approximately 3.8 % of the total state population of 719,231, nearly half of them, 12,738, live in Anchorage. 

Consul General Marciano Paynor expressed the Consulate General’s deep appreciation to community leaders and volunteers for the assistance and cooperation they extend to the Consulate General towards the successful conduct of its Consular Outreach Missions. END
