18 July 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez met representatives of a Korean National Assembly inter-party legislators’ group friendly to the Philippines, led by Representative Choi Gyu-sung of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD), on July 08 in central Seoul.
“Your group is instrumental in furthering the interests of the Philippines and Korea,” said Ambassador Hernandez, referring to the Korean-Philippine Parliamentary Friendship Association, which is headed by Representative Choi from North Jeolla Province. “I look forward to a more vibrant engagement from your expanded membership.”
They were joined by another association member, Philippine-born Representative Jasmine Bacurnay-Lee of the Saenuri Party, the first and only naturalized Korean national elected to the National Assembly, and Consul General and First Secretary Iric C. Arribas at the Woosan traditional Korean restaurant. END
