PH Ambassador Deposits Instrument of Ratification of the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters

Philippine Ambassador to France Junever M. Mahilum-West deposits the Instrument of Ratification with Mr. Paul Hondius, Head of Unit - Harmful Tax Practices, International Co-operation and Tax Administration, Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

PARIS 15 January 2025 – Philippine Ambassador to France Junever M. Mahilum-West deposited the Instrument of Ratification of the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on 07 January 2025.

The Convention provides the Philippines with the legal basis for the exchange of information with other contracting countries, and promotes increased cooperation on tax administration. 

The Convention enters into force in the Philippines on 01 May 2025. The Convention will allow the Philippines to request from and extend to 148 States Parties various forms of assistance such as exchange of information relevant for the administration or enforcement of domestic taxation laws, simultaneous tax examinations, recovery of tax claims, measures of conservancy and service of documents.
