Philippine Ambassador Presents Credentials to Timorese President

DILI 30 January 2025 – Philippine Ambassador to Timor-Leste Mary Anne A. Padua presented her credentials to President of Timor-Leste Dr. José Ramos-Horta in a formal ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Dili on 30 January 2025. The presentation of credentials marks the official start of Ambassador Padua’s role as the Philippines’ top diplomatic representative in Timor-Leste and reaffirms the strong diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Following the ceremony, a bilateral meeting was held between Ambassador Padua and President Ramos-Horta during which they acknowledged the deep historical and cultural connections between the Philippines and Timor-Leste. President Ramos-Horta also expressed appreciation for the contributions of Filipino development workers, engineers, religious workers, and educators in the development of the young Timorese nation.
