Filipina Wins 2nd Place in International Quran Recitation Competition in Indonesia

JAKARTA 03 February 2025 – One of the Philippines’ representatives to the 4th International Holy Quran Competition of Indonesia, Ms. Sabaha Salik of Maguindanao, won 2nd place in the Quran Recitation (Female Category). The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the competition held at Hotel Grand Sahid Jaya in Jakarta.
Philippine Embassy in Jakarta Chargé d’Affaires Gonaranao B. Musor, who attended the closing ceremony personally congratulated Ms. Salik on this honor for the country.
The 4th International Holy Quran Competition of Indonesia was held from 29 January to 01 February 2025, which saw the participation of 60 delegates from 38 countries. Aside from Ms. Salik, the Philippines’ other representative was Mr. Amid Pasandalan also from Maguindanao.
Indonesia was the overall champion in the competition. Aside from the Philippines, Indonesia won 1st place while Singapore got 3rd place in the Quran Recitation (Female Category). For the Male Category of the Quran Recitation: Indonesia, Afghanistan and Syria won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
For the Quran Memorization (Male Category): Indonesia, Libya and Russia won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. For the Female Category: Indonesia, Kenya and Indiagot the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. END
