Philippines Recognizes Russia’s Contributions to Education, Youth, Tourism, and People-to-People Exchange in ASEAN

JAKARTA 27 February 2025 – Emphasizing the importance of cooperation on education, the youth, tourism, and people-to-people exchange in building positive ties between ASEAN and Russia, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro recognized Russia’s many initiatives to promote these areas through the ASEAN-Russia platform on 19 February 2025.

Undersecretary Lazaro recalled successful initiatives such as the adoption of the ASEAN-Russian Federation Plan of Action on Education 2022-2026, the fully-funded master’s program on the Political Economy of ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership, Russian Language Training for Tourism Enterprises as well as the ASEAN-Russia Youth Summit. She added that the Philippines looks forward to further cooperation projects that foster individual and professional connections and contribute to fortifying ties between ASEAN and Russia. END
