BEIRUT 03 March 2025 – In celebration of the National Arts Month 2025, and in line with the Office of Cultural Diplomacy (DFA-OCD)'s Laro ▶ Play Project, the Philippine Embassy in Lebanon showcased a traditional Filipino children's game every week of February featuring the artworks from Embassy personnel and their dependents based on their own interpretation of beloved Filipino children's games.
Philippine Embassy personnel and their dependents submitted artworks on the traditional Filipino children’s games such as Tumbang Preso, Luksong Baka, Luksong Tinik and Palo-Sebo. Post took the opportunity to ask the younger dependents of the Embassy to share their own interpretation as they are the generation that grew up with technology the most. They were able to express their art through various mediums. Alongside each artwork is the artist’s profile and how to play the games.
The Philippine Embassy plans to further explore the project of sharing traditional games to the Filipino and Filipino-Lebanese children residing in Lebanon, for them to reconnect with their Filipino roots through these Filipino children’s games. END
