PH Consulate General in Xiamen Celebrates 30th Anniversary

XIAMEN 03 March 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen personnel, led by Consul Charleson Hermosura, and their dependents celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen on 28 February 2025.
The event started with a Flag Raising Ceremony. A Thanksgiving Mass was later celebrated by Fr. Joseph Zhou for Consulate General personnel and their dependents.
The personnel and dependents then gathered for breakfast while listening to the message of the Acting Head of Post, Consul Charleson C. Hermosura. Video messages received from former Consuls General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena, Julius Caesar A. Flores, Corazon Y. Bahjin, and other Filipino expatriates in Xiamen were played as part of the commemoration.
PCG Xiamen was established on 28 February 1995 at the request of overseas Chinese who either migrated to the Philippines from or trace their ancestors to Fujian Province since the early 10th century.
Former Presidents Corazon Aquino, Benigno Aquino, and Rodrigo Duterte trace their roots to Fujian Province. END
