PH Embassy in Amman, PTIC-Dubai, Jordanian Businessmen Association Discuss Ways to Strengthen Philippines-Jordan Trade Partnership
AMMAN 04 March 2025 — In a move aimed at enhancing economic ties between the Philippines and Jordan, the Philippine Embassy in Amman, led by Ambassador H.E. Wilfredo C. Santos, together with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Dubai Trade Commissioner Vichael Angelo D. Roaring, met with members of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA). The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral trade relations between the Philippines and Jordan.
Ambassador Santos expressed optimism, describing the mission as a pivotal step towards fostering growth in trade relations between the two nations. He highlighted that this meeting is a significant moment for future collaboration, underscoring the potential for enhanced partnerships in various sectors.
Ambassador Santos further emphasized Jordan’s potential as a partner in technology, tourism, and health. He noted that sharing expertise in these sectors could open new avenues for collaboration and mutual growth, underscoring the promising start of this trade mission.
Trade Commissioner Roaring outlined Jordan’s key role as a strategic gateway to the Middle East. He also emphasized the country’s stable security environment, which makes it an attractive destination for foreign investment. He further encouraged the JBA to explore new opportunities in the Philippines, including participation in the International Food Exhibition (IFEX) set for 22 to 24 May 2025, which offers an ideal platform for Jordanian businesses to engage with the Philippine food industry.
Trade Commissioner Roaring also spotlighted the Philippines’ reputation as a global hub for business process outsourcing, presenting yet another opportunity for Jordan to strengthen its ties with the Philippines through outsourcing partnerships.
The discussion sets the stage for deeper economic exchanges between the two countries, with the business matching event marking a critical opportunity for both Filipino and Jordanian companies to explore new business avenues.
