The MJIA delegation was composed of highly skilled artisans and leading jewelry exporters from Meycauayan, Bulacan, namely: 1) Bijoux by Lori Hermoso, 2) Jevan Jewelry, 3) Kit Silver Jewellery, 4) Montura de Meycauayan Jewelry & Metal Arts Corp., 5) Ricel’s Jewellery, and 6) V.Y. The Philippine booth showcased an array of handcrafted pieces, gold filigree, custom-made fine jewelry, antique and Filipiniana-inspired fine jewelry featuring South Sea pearls, precious gemstones and jewels that features the art of intricate traditional metalwork, such as the Filipino tambourine jewelry technique.
Representing the rich heritage and craftsmanship of Filipino jewelry-making, MJIA’s participation has been met with enthusiasm and attracted significant attention from international buyers who were eager to source unique and fine jewelry pieces. Visitors to the Philippine pavilion praised the fusion of traditional Filipino artistry in jewelry-making with modern technology to deliver high-quality and beautiful jewelry.
The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong visited the Philippine pavilion to show support and appreciation for the participation of Meycauayan jewelers and for representing the Philippines in the international stage. MJIA was able to make significant connections in the international jewelry industry and also engaged representatives from the Filipino Community in Hong Kong. In a meeting organized by the Consulate, MJIA was introduced to the Philippine Association of Hong Kong (PAHK), where they discussed potential collaborations where Philippine artistry, technique, and craftsmanship in jewelry making can take center stage in Hong Kong.
This prestigious event alongside the 11th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, both organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), drew over 4,000 exhibitors from across the globe. The continued participation in the MJIA reinforces the Philippines' growing importance in this glittering industry. END
