23 July 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Milan successfully conducted a consular outreach mission in Treviso, Italy on July 19.

The consular team, supervised by Vice Consul Helen Anne Sayo, provided services for passport renewals, civil registrations and notarials to Filipinos residing in Treviso and nearby towns in the Veneto region. Applicants were also given the chance to register for overseas voting. Attached agencies, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Pag-IBIG and SSS, joined the consular mission to deliver services.

At the sidelines, newly elected officers of the Filipino-Italian community of Treviso had their oath taking ceremony in the presence of Vice Consul Sayo and community members. Vice Consul Sayo encouraged the officers to initiate activities and programs that will promote the welfare and well-being of the growing Filipino community in Veneto.

A total of 187 consular services were rendered for the day: 133 passports, 44 notarials and 10 other services.

Treviso, a city belonging to the Veneto region, is home to the headquarters of popular Italian clothing retailers like Benetton, Stefanel, Diadora and the Italian appliance manufacturer, De’Longhi. The city is also known for being the birthplace of probably the most famous Italian coffee-soaked pudding dessert, tiramisu, which literally means “Pick me up”. END
