It was attended by guests from the Filipino community, composed mainly of teachers from the Manado Independent School and teachers from SMA Lokon St. Nikolaus Tomohon along with their dependents, and Indonesian guests.
The following recipes were served during the event, with some of the recipes personally prepared by Consulate personnel who willingly shared their culinary skills: Chicken Adobo, Fried Bangus and Danggit, Fish Balls in Tomato Sauce, Pansit Lechon Belly, Sardinia Spaghetti, Ice Cream, Mango Graham Float, Leche Flan, Pan de Manila Sardines with Skyflakes, Guisantes Especial, 7D Dried Mangoes, Pan de Sal, Clover and Piattos Chips with dip; Calamansi Juice; and Buko Juice.
To highlight the shared tastes between the Philippines and Indonesia, which showcases not just food, but friendship, the Consulate included the following Indonesian dishes during the event: Bakso, Indonesian Meatballs in Soup; Ondeh-Ondeh, a chewy, sweet snack with pandan-infused dough and palm sugar filling; and Biapong, a typical Manadonese food in the form of a bakpao, the fillings are very diverse ranging from ba (meat), temo (peanuts), or unti (a mixture of coconut and brown sugar).
Before the program started, guests were treated to a wide array of appetizers and tummy fillers. This was followed by literary presentations and performances from the Filipino community.
Following the performances, guests participated in the Filipino party favorite, "Pabitin," which was thoroughly enjoyed by both children and adults alike.
The event concluded with the awarding of Certificates of Appreciation to all the guest performers, a group photo opportunity, and the serving of a variety of traditional Filipino dishes, which all attendees enjoyed. The atmosphere of the party was akin to a barangay fiesta.
