PH Consulate General in Vancouver Joins Filipino-Canadian Community in Mourning the Victims of Lapu-Lapu Festival Tragedy

VANCOUVER 02 May 2025 — Philippine Consul General in Vancouver Gina A. Jamoralin together with Consul Analyn D. Ratonel and Labor Attachè Ma. Celeste M. Valderrama joined the Filipino-Canadian community in an organized vigil for the victims of the Lapu Lapu Festival tragedy, at a temporary memorial site held near Kensington Community Center on 27 April 2025.
British Columbia Premier David Eby, Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim, Member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (MLA) for Vancouver-Kensington Mable Elmore as well as the members of the Filipino-Canadian Community are present during the event.
The Consulate expressed solidarity in encouraging the Filipino-Canadian community to remain strong and resilient imbued with the spirit of bayanihan (community spirit) during this difficult time. END
