PH Ambassador to Thailand Discusses Cooperation on Peacebuilding Initiatives with Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity Secretary

MANILA 14 May 2025 – Philippine Ambassador to Thailand and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Millicent Cruz Paredes paid a courtesy call on Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr., Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity during her official visit to the Philippines for the High-Level Conference on Middle-Income Countries hosted by the Philippine Government on 28-29 April 2025 in Manila. 

Ambassador Paredes and Secretary Galvez explored opportunities for the Embassy to support and promote the Philippine Government’s peace processes, particularly the peace and development initiatives in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), as well as the Philippines’ championship of the full, equal, and meaningful participation of women at all levels of peacebuilding through the Women, Peace, and Security agenda. 

Ambassador Paredes thanked Secretary Galvez for his valuable insights and future collaboration. END
