Filipino Creativity Shines at Indonesian Fashion Week
JAKARTA 04 June 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Indonesia, in cooperation with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Jakarta, successfully staged the Philippines’ comeback in Indonesia’s biggest fashion event, Indonesia Fashion Week 2025 (IFW 2025), which was held on 28 May-01 June 2025 at the Jakarta Convention Center.
Young Filipino designer and TernoCon 2025 finalist, Mr. Koko Gonzales, showcased his modern and avant garde interpretations of the Filipiniana and Barong using indigenous textiles and the sampaguita motif under his label LSW. Mr. Gonzales was the only foreign designer featured at the closing ceremony of IFW 2025 on 01 June 2025.
Meanwhile, the luxury handcrafted bags of Anmari & Co. using various indigenous materials were a big hit among the attendees and patrons of the IFW 2025 trade exhibition.
During the courtesy call at the Philippine Embassy last 02 June, Chargé d’Affaires Gonaranao B. Musor emphasized the significance of the participation of Koko Gonzales and Anmari & Co. in line with the country’s economic and cultural diplomacy thrusts of promoting Philippine creative industries, including the world-class talent and craftsmanship of Filipino creatives.
The Philippine Embassy also acknowledges the support of the Department of Tourism for supplying the event with “Love the Philippines” jute bags as tokens for Philippine stakeholders and guests invited to watch the fashion show of Koko Gonzales at IFW 2025. END
