The Madz in Paris: Philippine Madrigal Singers Wow Crowd in Fête de la Musique Performance

The Philippine Madrigal Singers, led by choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio, deliver a soulful performance for the Fête de la Musique in Paris.

PARIS 26 June 2025 — The Philippine Madrigal Singers delivered a public performance during the Fête de la Musique on 21 June 2025 in front of the Panthéon. Also known as World Music Day Festival, Fête de la Musique is an annual music celebration during the solstice where the public is urged to play music in outdoor public spaces and parks all over France, lasting throughout the day.

This year, the Madrigal Singers showcased Philippine musical virtuosity by performing at one of Paris’ most iconic landmarks. Located at the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the Panthéon was originally built as a church but later converted into a mausoleum honoring the great women and men of France throughout history, such as Voltaire, Marie and Pierre Curie, Alexandre Dumas, and Victor Hugo.

Recognized by UNESCO as Artist for Peace for “putting their fame and influence to promote cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace,” the internationally renowned and multi-awarded Filipino choral group delivered their heartwarming rendition of Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika composed by National Artist Ryan Cayabyab and the powerful and iconic song from Disney's The Lion King, Circle of Life. They also sang a classic French song by Charles Trenet, La Mer, which expresses nostalgia for distance, as well as fascination with the immensity and beauty of the sea. END
