KUWAIT 26 June 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait and Box Hill College Kuwait (BHCK) signed a Research Grant Donation Agreement on 23 June 2025, establishing the Philippine Studies Program (PSP) as part of a broader initiative to promote Philippine culture and heritage through academic engagement.

The agreement outlines the inclusion of the Philippine Studies Program in BHCK’s academic offerings and supports collaborative research on Philippine culture, labor, and trade. Research outputs will be integrated into the curriculum and are envisioned to contribute to learning materials relevant to both local and regional contexts. Dr. Ali Arif, President of BHCK, expressed appreciation for the trust placed in the institution and noted that BHCK considers it an honor to be entrusted with a program that brings cultural depth and regional relevance to its students.

Ambassador Jose A. Cabrera III emphasized the significance of academic partnerships in diplomacy, describing education as a powerful channel for deepening understanding—especially among young people—and for building lasting bridges between cultures.

The signing was attended by BHCK officials and Embassy representatives, including Ambassador Cabrera, Ms. Jordan Ysabel G. Morales, Third Secretary and Vice Consul, and Ms. Princess Y. Conwi, Cultural Officer.

This initiative is part of the Embassy’s continuing efforts to promote Philippine culture, strengthen bilateral ties, and engage academic institutions in fostering mutual understanding between the Philippines and the State of Kuwait. END
