Philippine Embassy Celebrates 2025 Independence Day with Filipino Community in Poland 

WARSAW 04 July 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw hosted the 2025 Independence Day celebration with the Filipino community in Poland at the Embassy grounds in  Warsaw with the recurring theme: “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan.” 

The event was attended by approximately 200 Filipino community members, Polish friends,  and special guests/resource speakers from IOM-Poland, highlighted by the  video messages of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Mme. Liza  Araneta Marcos, as well as the messages of Honorable Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo and Honorable Secretary of Migrant Workers Leo Hans Cacdac. 

The Anthonian Institute Choir led the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and  the hymns during the Holy Mass, which was officiated by Fr. Tirso Alcover, Jr. RCJ of  the Filipino Catholic Chaplaincy of Warsaw. 

The Holy Mass was capped by the 2025 Independence Day message of Philippine  Ambassador Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz, which was delivered almost entirely in Filipino.  

The mass was followed by the traditional Salo-Salo consisting of Filipino food provided  by the Embassy and other sumptuous dishes brought for the occasion by members of  the Filipino community. A special feature of the celebration was the Bagong Pilipinas  Town Hall Meeting which was graced by resource speakers from the IOM, who briefed  the Filipinos present on the reforms in the legislation covering foreign workers in  Poland which took effect on 01 June 2025.
