Philippines Calls for Stronger East Asia-Latin America Bi-Regional Cooperation

SEOUL 09 July 2025 — The 15th Forum of East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) Cyber Secretariat Workshop and related Meetings, under the theme “FEALAC's Vision for Reinvigorating Cooperation between East Asia and Latin America,” was successfully held from 11 to 12 June 2025 in Seoul, Korea.
Department of Foreign Affairs Office of American Affairs Assistant Director Ms. Maria Regine Beatrice B. Vergara represented the Philippines in the meeting where she underscored Philippine support on FEALAC projects that strengthen bi-regional cooperation between East Asia and Latin America, and advance political, economic, and cultural relations with the Latin American region.
The FEALAC newsletter distributed during the meeting featured Philippine Ambassador Dizon-De Vega and ROK MOFA Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean Lee Joo-il during their meeting in April 2025 where the Ambassador reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to FEALAC through active participation and support for its various initiatives. The Philippine Embassy in Seoul is an active participant in FEALAC as its Cybersecretariat is headquartered in Seoul. END
