TOKYO 18 July 2025 — Philippine Ambassador to Japan Mylene J. Garcia-Albano welcomed visiting officials from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) on 08 July 2025 in Tokyo. The engagement with the Embassy was part of the PCCI’s official 2025 Business Mission to Japan.
PCCI provided a brief overview of the organization’s current initiatives, priorities, and continuing efforts to strengthen Philippine trade and investment ties with Japan. In recent years, the PCCI has signed multiple cooperation agreements, such as the Memorandum of Understanding with the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), and conducted joint initiatives with its Japanese partners.
PCCI President Enunina V. Mangio also informed the Ambassador that the Business Mission, in partnership with the Japan Business Council (PJBC), intends to showcase the Philippines’ investment potential in priority sectors to Japanese businesses and investors, strengthen PCCI’s institutional partnerships with Japanese organizations, and provide business networking opportunities to the delegation.
Ambassador Garcia-Albano applauded the PCCI’s initiative for championing the interest of Filipino enterprises and for promoting stronger international linkages.
“The presence of PCCI here in Japan is both timely and significant as we prepare to mark 70 years of Philippines-Japan diplomatic relations in 2026. Let us continue to work together to ensure that the ties between the Philippine and Japanese business communities grow deeper, stronger, and more impactful,” the Ambassador said.
The PCCI-PJBC Japan Business Mission aims to support the proactive exchanges achieved between the PCCI and its Japanese partners in Tokyo and Osaka, and bring forth business and investment opportunities for Philippine businesses in targeted industries such as agriculture, green energy and technology, healthcare/medical equipment, human resources, manufacturing, and tourism.
Established in 1978, PCCI is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government business organization composed of small, medium, and large enterprises, local chambers and industry associations representing various sectors of business. It has over 100 member chambers of commerce throughout the Philippines. END
