Philippines Wins 4th Asia Chorale Prix in Singapore

SINGAPORE 29 July 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore proudly congratulates @solagratiachorale and its conductor Mr. Cyril Punay from the Philippines for emerging as the Champion of the 4th Asia Chorale Prix held on 24 July 2025 at the Victoria Concert Hall, Singapore. 

In 2024, Sola Gratia Chorale also won as the overall champion of the 8th Singapore International Choral Festival.

We also commend the University of Mindanao Chorale @UMChorale and its conductor Mr. Timothy Paul Atencio  for their powerful performance and for flying the Philippine flag high. 

In a showcase of world-class vocal artistry, five top choral groups from Asia—two from the Philippines, two from the Republic of Korea (Cheorwon Boys and Girls Choir; and Korea Choir) and one from Indonesia (Vocalista Harmonic Choir Isi Yogyakarta)—competed for the prestigious title.

The performances were evaluated by distinguished and renowned choral experts and leaders from Singapore (Ms. Ai Hooi Lim), Indonesia (Mr. Tommyanto Kandisaputra), Malaysia (Ms. Susanna Saw), South Korea (Mr. Hee Churl Kim), Belgium (Mr. Luc Anthonis), Latvia (Mr. Māris Sirmais), South Africa (Mr. Michael Barrett), Portugal (Mr. Paulo Lourenço) and Norway (Ms. Tove Ramlo-Ystad).

The 4th Asia Chorale Prix was hosted for the first time in Singapore.

Philippine Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Joyleen E. Santos and Cultural Officer Rosellie L. Bantay were honored to witness this proud and momentous occasion, and to join in celebrating this remarkable Filipino victory.

What a fitting celebration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino, as we honor the talent, passion, and global excellence of Filipino music!
