30 July 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Mexico provided consular services and conducted overseas voters registration for the Filipino community in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico on July 19.
The team, which included Vice-Consul Mikhal C. de Dios, Consular Assistant Fernando C. Carillo Jr., and Finance Officer Randy Hilot processed a total of 54 consular service applicants and 52 registrants for overseas voting.
The mission was conducted on the premises of Wistron Mexico, a multinational company that employs a large number of Filipinos. In organizing the activity, the Embassy’s officers coordinated with Atty. Jose Martinez, Wistron’s Human Resources General Supervisor, and Ms. Patricia Guerrero, Human Resources Manager. Filipino community members Relly Concepcion Nicolas and Rosalyn Rivera Nicolas also assisted the Embassy in ensuring smooth processing of passport applications and overseas voters registration.
The Embassy officers also promoted Vigan as one of the 21 candidates in the Seven Wonder Cities of the World competition, distributed promotional materials, and encouraged the Filipino community to vote for Vigan in the online poll. The Filipino community, in turn, expressed their appreciation to the Embassy for sending the consular team to Ciudad Juarez. END
