05 August 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to New Zealand Virginia H. Benavidez hosted a luncheon meeting at “Ang Bahay” on July 29 for International Strategy and Partnerships Manager Scott McHardy and Labour Inspectorate Southern Regional Manager Steve Watson of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to promote the interests and welfare of Filipino workers. Discussions centered on possible ways and cooperative arrangements to address matters related to the situation and status of Filipino workers in New Zealand and pursue the shared goals of the Philippines and New Zealand for migrant workers’ well-being.

The Philippine Embassy in Wellington reiterates its deep appreciation to the relevant authorities, agencies and settlement support groups in New Zealand for their invaluable assistance, immediate action, and continuing cooperation. END
