06 August 2014 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini on July 23.
A short lecture was conducted by Vice Consul Ricarte Abejuela III on the life of Mabini at the Consulate General premises, with the officers and staff in attendance. Mabini was known as the “sublime paralytic” as well as being the “Brains of the Philippine Revolution.” A short slide presentation on Mabini’s life was continuously shown at the Consular waiting area for the benefit of the public. A short video also on Mabini’s life was uploaded to the Consulate General’s official Facebook page as well as Mabini’s “The True Decalogue” in honor of the celebrations.
The presentations at the consular waiting area will continue to be shown for the rest of the week. END
