8 August 2014 – In line with its mission of making its services more accessible to Filipino workers, the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv conducted its second consular outreach mission for two days in Haifa where OFWs based in Haifa and other parts of northern Israel availed themselves of various consular services from June 20 to 21 at IRemit Office and St. Joseph Latin Parish.
The consular team offered services such as passport processing and releasing, notarials (special power of attorney and certification), NBI clearance, voluntary registration and issuance of Embassy ID, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) membership contribution and overseas employment certificate. Apart from offering consular services, the Embassy also took the opportunity to register the applicants for overseas absentee voting, encouraging OFWs to register for the 2016 Elections. Over 200 OFWs benefited from the various services during the consular mission.
Haifa is the third largest city in Israel and also has the third biggest concentration of Filipino workers numbering more than 4,000. END
