Tel Aviv 38 August 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to Israel Generoso DG Calonge launched the weekend Overseas Voter Registration in Israel, further cementing the commitment of the Embassy in maximizing coverage of fresh stock of voters in the country and attaining its 7,000 target assigned by Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The trial weekend registration is separate from the Weekday operation in the Embassy and is meant to cater to Filipino communities in northern Israel.

On June 20, the Embassy overseas voter (OV) team proceeded to Haifa in northern Israel as part of the joint consular mission held in coordination with the Filipino Overseas Workers Welfare Association (FOWWA) and with the assistance of the I-Remit/flyeast offices which provided the venue for the two-day activity.
