13 August 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago conducted a consular outreach program in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 28.
The outreach, which was done in coordination with the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists – Indiana Chapter (PAMET) and the Barangay Club of Indianapolis (BCI), was held at St. Michael’s Church for the third consecutive year.
There are approximately 10,652 Filipinos residing in the state of Indiana, according to the 2010 U.S. Census. The outreach is part of the Consulate General’s initiative of bringing public service closer to its constituents.
The Consular team was led by Vice Consul Alena S. Borra and consisted of: Mr. Cornelio P. Santiago, Ms. Anna Liza F. Alcantara, Ms. Rachel M. Bumanglag, and Mr. Jerwin I. Mamalateo.
A total of 79 consular services were rendered during the outreach, which included passport applications, dual citizenship, visa, notarials, and civil registration.
The outreach also included overseas voters registration services. Voter Registration Machine (VRM) Operator Arneil D. Torres was able to process applications from 41 Filipinos who wish to exercise their right to vote in the 2016 Philippine national elections. END
