15 August 2014 - Philippine Ambassador to Nigeria Alex Lamadrid hosted a dinner for the Asia-Pacific Group of Heads of Post at the Philippine Embassy Chancery on August 12.
Ambassador Lamadrid warmly welcomed the guests who expressed gratitude to the host and appreciation for the elegant design of the Chancery. In his toast, Ambassador Lamadrid wished all the guests good health to which the Asia-Pacific Group responded with a token of African art and best wishes in Ambassador Lamadrid’s successful stint as Ambassador to 18 countries in West Africa.
The heads of post were treated to a sumptuous fare of chicken adobo, camaron rebosado, lamb chops, fried rice, sushi, and gelatin and fruits for dessert.
The dean of the Asia-Pacific group, Indonesian Ambassador Sudirman Haseng led the other heads of posts, namely: Chinese Ambassador Xiaojie Gu, India High Commissioner Ajjampur Rangalah Ghanashyam, Japanese Ambassador Ryuichi Shoji, South Korean Ambassador Choi Jong-Hyun, Malaysian High Commissioner Lim Juay Jin, Pakistan High Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf Sallem, Sri Lanka Acting High Commissioner Aparekka Liyanagamage Ratnapala, Thai Ambassador Chailert Limsomboon and Viet Nam Ambassador Hoang Ngoc Ho.
The Asia-Pacific Group was formed for a closer collaboration and discussion of common concerns among the resident heads of posts of Asia and Pacific states in Nigeria. They meet monthly on a rotation basis. The Philippines is one of the core members of the Asia Pacific Group. END
