18 August 2014 - The Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) invited their Philippine counterparts to participate in key business events organized by the Chamber to be held in Singapore. These include the Islamic Financial Services Conference 2014 which will be held on October 1 and the First Halal Culinary Food Adventure to be held from August 14 to 16, 2015.

 

The invitation was extended through the Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales during his meeting with Chamber officials on August 12. The Ambassador was accompanied by Commercial Counsellor Glenn Peñaranda.

 

SMCCI is a prominent organization that represents the business interests of the Malay-Muslim Community in Singapore. The Chamber promotes development and creates invaluable opportunities for its members through conferences, events, networking sessions and business missions.

 

During the call, Ambassador Morales thanked the SMCCI officials for working closely with the Philippine Embassy and for its interest in doing business in the Philippines particularly in the Mindanao area.

 

Ambassador Morales and Mr. Peñaranda briefed the SMCCI officials on the positive growth prospects of the Philippine economy as well as increasing opportunities in trade, investment and tourism in the Philippines. END
