shanghai219 August 2014 – The Loboc Children’s Choir held a concert at the Shanghai Children’s Theatre on July 25, entitled “Voices of Gratitude.”  The concert is a tribute to the people who helped the Philippines rise above super Typhoon Yolanda/ Haiyan in the Philippines.

 

The Choir mesmerized the audience with their traditional Filipino classic and modern pieces.  The Chinese audiences were also impressed with their rendition of Chinese songs.

 

Consul General Wilfredo R. Cuyugan gave his remarks prior to the performance and thanked the Chinese government, represented by Mr. Zhou Yajun, Vice President of the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (SPAFFC) and the Chinese people for their benevolent help to the victims of super typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan and to Mr. Carlos Chan, Chairman of the Philippine Soong Qing Ling, for bringing the Loboc Children’s Choir to Shanghai.  Ms. Michelle Teope-Shen, President of the Filipino community Association (FilComSha) gave her closing remarks and extended her appreciation to all the guests who came and watched the performance.

 

The FilComSha organized the event supported by the Philippine Consulate General sponsored by Liwayway (China) Co., Ltd.  END
