27 August 2014 - Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle visited the Philippine Embassy on August 18 during his sojourn in Seoul to attend events related to the pontifical visit of Pope Francis last week.
“As Seoul has been blessed by the visit of His Holiness, the Embassy has been blessed by the visit of Your Eminence,” Ambassador Hernandez said in brief welcoming remarks to Cardinal Tagle, who is the 32nd Archbishop of Manila.
Cardinal Tagle told the Embassy’s 45 officers and staff how his work not only for the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines but also with the Vatican, adds to his regular ministry and gives him a better appreciation of the work of diplomats as representatives of the country and as front-line public servants, especially to overseas Filipinos.
The visit, which Cardinal Tagle undertook after Pope Francis concluded his five-day trip to South Korea, ended with a merienda cena for the cardinal. END
