29 August 2014 – Philippine Ambassador Catalino R. Dilem, Jr. presented his credentials as non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the President of the Republic of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez Alvarado at the Casa Presidencial in Tegucigalpa City. Ambassador Dilem was one of the five ambassadors who handed over their Letters of Credence to President Hernandez.

 

Upon arrival at the Marriott Hotel which is two minutes away by car from the Casa Presidencial, Assistant Director General of Protocol Rafael Mayorga and a military aide, welcomed Ambassador Dilem and the members of his delegation, Finance Officer Randy Hilot and Philippine Honorary Consul to Honduras, Atty. Tito Bendeck Bonilla.

 

At the Palace, the Philippine National Anthem was played by a military band, after which Ambassador Dilem and his delegation proceeded to the presidential hall, accompanied by the Chief of Protocol and a military aide. He presented his Letter of Credence as well as the Letter of Recall of his predecessor, Philippine Ambassador George Reyes, to President Hernandez.

 

Ambassador Dilem conveyed to the president the greetings and felicitations of President Benigno S. Aquino III. He likewise expressed the desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries and to strengthen the existing relationship not only by expanding trade but also by exploring other areas where the two countries can cooperate.

 

Ambassador Dilem gave President Hernandez a copy of the book entitled “Best of the Best – Philippines.” END
